Vietnam Airlines Baggage

Every trip begins with a suitcase filled with the essentials for your adventure. Packing efficiently means having a comfortable and safe time at your destination. That’s why it’s so important to know the rules and regulations concerning check-in baggage with your airline. Here is our comprehensive guide for Vietnam Airlines baggage allowance!

What is the Vietnam Airlines Baggage Allowance?

Vietnam Airlines provides its travelers with great options for checked baggage. Compared to other Asian airlines, their checked baggage allowance is quite generous. Sometimes, an excellent packing system is all you need to take advantage of what you have been provided. By packing light and complying to all baggage rules, you will be able to make the most of your Vietnam Airlines flight in terms of checked bag allowance.

What are the Rules for Vietnam Airlines Checked Baggage?

For Economy, Business, and Premium Class flights, you are allowed one or two pieces of checked baggage. The dimensions of the checked bag or suitcase should be no more than 158 cm/ 62 inches (length+width+height). The maximum allowed weight for Vietnam Airlines varies, depending on your destination (US, Asia, Europe or South America) and fare (economy or business), you are allowed 20 to 60 kg.

You should check the maximum allowable weight per piece of checked baggage when you have purchased your ticket. If your suitcase manages to weight more than the weight limit, you will be asked to repack your bag so that it does not exceed this restriction. If you expect to take more than your allowance, you should inform the carrier beforehand to be able to send the item to cargo. The reason for this restriction is to prevent health and safety incidents for all handlers of your luggage.
